Prophets & Seers

The differences between a Seer and a Prophet

A quote from The Seer, ‘All seers are prophets but
not all prophets are seers.’
The main difference

between a prophetic Seer and a Prophet is the
avenue in which they receive revelation. A prophet
can be a non-seeing prophet or a seer.

A seer is one whose prophetic ministry is largely
based in the realm of receiving from the Lord in the
form of dreams and visions. Seers have a larger
percentage of their prophetic gift centered around
vision, receiving messages, and revelation knowledge
by dreams and visions.

A non-seeing prophet receives auditory revelation
either through spoken communication in their spirit or
through a message delivered to their spirit. The
difference between a spoken message to their spirit
and words delivered to their spirit is that sometimes
the Words come from God verbatim and other times
God just drops an entire message into our spirit, like a
package, which we then have to articulate and
communicate through English language.

A Seer’s main source of revelation comes through
vision. They will receive revelation in the form of
vision, through pictures, images, and sometimes
colors and shapes. Along with the visual revelation
they sometimes get a divine understanding or
interpretation, and/or emotions and feeling by
revelation. However, seers do not always understand
what they are seeing. Daniel and John did not
understand much of what they saw. They simply
documented what they saw faithfully.

And he said, Hear now My words: If there be a
prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself
known unto him in a vision, and will speak to him in a
dream. (Num 12:6)

I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have
multiplied visions and used similitudes by the

ministry of the prophets. (Hos 12:10)

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God,
I will pour out My Spirit upon all flesh; and your sons
and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young
men shall see visions and your old men shall dream
dreams. (Acts 2:17)
A seer sees things related to their area of anointing and ministry. God does not
give divine revelation in a void. If He is giving the revelation it is for a purpose. I
see many national things because my ministry is a national and worldwide ministry
and the things that God shows me are for intercession and sometimes as a sign
and a wonder to authenticate the prophetic nature of this ministry. The difference
between a prophet’s dreams and those of another person is that a prophet will
receive messages for the future and for the body of Christ. An individual who is not
prophetic will usually dream of things that God is speaking to them regarding
themselves.

Quote from The Seer: ‘The main purpose for those with a dream and vision
anointing is to awaken the people of God to the spirit realm. It is a miraculous
manifestation of the Spirit that creatively illuminates truth and can confirm the
direction of God that has been given to others. A good biblical example is the
prophet Zechariah.’

I believe seers have a larger capacity for ministry than the statement above but this
statement is profoundly true in my own life. I am a Seer and I have a burning
passion to evangelize Christians and non-Christians alike with the message that
God is speaking today through dreams and visions.

If you have a seer anointing and are clueless about what you should do with it,
especially if your anointing is largely foretelling future events through dreams and
visions, I recommend keeping a journal now for the time when God wants you to
share the things that He has shown you to further advance the Kingdom of God
through life in the Spirit. Remember He doesn’t give gifts in a void, if He’s giving
them He will likely have a use for them at some point!
